EWF recently informed you of our fruitful discussions at the European Olympic Committee HQ and the prospect of weightlifting being added to the EYOF. 

The Maribor 2023 LOC notified us that the Opening ceremony for the 2023 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival is slated for July 23, 2023, and that the weightlifting event will take place as a side event, on July 24, 2023, at 16:00 local time.

Given the significance of this event for the EWF, as we will be included in the European youth summer Olympic festival events for the first time in our history, it was taken into consideration of moving the 2023 Junior & U23 EWF Championships two days forward.

We would like to thank the Romanian Weightlifting Federation for their availability, and we have established a new timetable with the opening ceremony on July 25th, 2023, and the first competition day on July 26th, 2023. The last competition day is August 3rd, 2023.

The European Junior & U23 Championships in 2023 will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from July 24 to August 3, the EWF is happy to inform you.
The largest European weightlifting competitions were held in Bucharest in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2018, and 2019. All of these events were fantastic, and they give us confidence that the 2023 European Championships will be a memorable even
